Alexa Ranking -Tips For Website Credibility !

Firstly, what is Alexa, and what does it mean ?

Alexa is a website information company that is well known for its website ranking and toolbar.

It is a subsidiary company of Amazon.com and provides information about global ranking, traffic data and other important information of a website.

Alexa Ranking –

Credibility leads to success, and this is exactly what Alexa gives you, once you achieve a good ranking in the search engines.

Several factors are necessary for this to happen, and strangely enough, relying heavily on traffic is not one of them .

Here are some tips you should know to increase your ranking –

1. Claim Your Site for Alexa – this is the first step you need to take to increase your ranking.  Create a free Alexa account and from the dashboard, click on ‘add a site’ and enter all the necessary details.

Download the Alexa verification file into your pc and upload it to the root directory of your site.  Click on verify and you’re done – your site status will changed to claimed !

2. Install Alexa Toolbar – Install Alexa Toolbar on your browser, and ask your friends to do the same on their browser. As they visit your site afterwards, this will help to increase Alexa ranking as well.

3. Alexa Widget – Alexa widget helps Alexa to calculate the visitor data more accurately. Copy and paste the code and add the widget in your site, either in the bottom right or bottom left corner of the site  – you don’t want to distract visitors .

4 – Ask people to review your blog –  obviously you’d like good reviews – this will help to increase and improve Alexa ranking

5 – Get Backlinks – although Alexa calculates how many links your site have, and they categorize it under ‘reputation’, it is important that you have quality, related backlinks ! 

Spammy links will have a negative effect on your ranking.

6 – Write Articles – these should be quality articles, giving value, and content should stay relevant to the topic !  In a short time, you should see your ranking improve.
