Pinterest – Business Or Personal Profile ?
I know what you’re thinking ….. it’s becoming a social media jungle out there !
Actually this update is great news for all of us, as it allows you to use Pinterest commercially – you can now promote your products, generate sales and leads, and use it for other business purposes without any worries.
If you already have a personal profile, then you should think about converting this into a business account ……. or just start afresh with one for business.
Business Or Personal Profile ?
You can of course, have both- a personal and a business profile !
Although the outward appearance of a business account is the same as a personal account, there are some key differences that you should be aware of.
Don’t panic though – starting a business account is straightforward !
Also very useful, are tips on how you can take advantage of this update and use Pinterest commercially to promote your business.
On Facebook and Twitter or other social networks where you share posts every day, you might be able to promote your products more than once daily.
With Pinterest, however, you should pin your products only once – if you do it over and over again, you’ll appear to be over promoting yourself …. not good !
When you first pin one of your products, you want to get as many initial likes, repins and comments as possible.
This will add social proof to your products, encourage users to check out the product and increase the likelihood of more direct ‘shares’ in the future.
Focus on building an audience first, by sharing content regularly and then pin your products to your page.
For those of you who are serious about Pinterest, and using this powerful strategy for marketing your business or products, then I highly recommend Melanie Duncan’s training.
